Donetsk and Lugansk Regions Host Majority of Displaced Persons

The total number of internally displaced persons registered in Ukraine is 1.6 million people. This is official information as of December 2015 provided by Ministry of Social Policy on the informational request of NGO “Foundation.101”.

38.6% of internally displaced persons are registered on the territory of Donetsk region that is controlled by Ukrainian government. Free territory of Lugansk region is on the second place with 14.8% of internally displaced persons registered there. Kharkiv region is on the third place with 12.6% internally displaced persons registered in the region.

Donetsk and Lugansk Regions Host Majority of Displaced Persons

Capital city is on the fourth place — 7.3% internally displaced persons in the city. Zaporizhzhya region is on the fifth place with 6.9% internally displaced persons. Dnipropetrovsk occupies the sixth position — 4.7%.

About 15% of internally displaced persons are registered in other regions of Ukraine.
